The shafts are used for various applications, especially in the automobile, construction, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. The grade of stainless steel used for making a certain shaft determines its chemical makeup and the surroundings in which it may be used. Stainless steel shafts are corrosion-resistant, durable, and can be used for a long period. Their proportions can be changed to fit certain needs. At Skytech Rolling, we specialize in manufacturing and supplying high-quality stainless steel shafts.

The Pump Shaft Quality Stainless Steel Bars can have varied shapes depending on their pump applications. They are manufactured at a higher standard than common steel bars. They are corrosion-resistant and eligible for application in harsh environments.

Forged Shafts are manufactured using a process that involves shaping the shaft forgings with the help of local compressive forces. The forging procedure is initiated once the piece of steel is repeatedly struck with a hammer and then squeezed by a press.

Difference between Turned Ground and Polished Shafting

The Turned Ground and Polished finishing process classification is often used for stainless steel shafting. The turning technique produces circular bars free from any tension caused by cold drawing. It is followed by grinding and polishing, which improves the stainless steel shaft's roundness, dimensional accuracy and surface finish.

Which one is better: SS 316 or 304 Shaft?

The best answer is SS 316 Shaft or 304 Stainless Steel Shaft, depending on the usage. The greater melting point of the SS 304 material qualifies it for high-temperature applications. SS 316 material has better corrosion and chemical resistance properties. When talking about strength, there is very little difference between them. If you want shafts for general purposes at an affordable price, then 304 SS shafts are a good choice. But, if you want them for application in marine or chemical environments, then 316 SS shafts are undoubtedly a better choice.

What is Turned, Ground and Polished Shafting (TG&P)?

Turned, Ground, and Polished shaking starts with a bar, either hot rolled or cold drawn. It is turned in a lathe, where essentially the material is removed. This turning procedure continues until the steel bar reaches the desired size. Achieving this might call for several passes. This is followed by the grinding process, which smoothens the surface and reduces uneven wear and balancing issues. The bar is ground with a grinding wheel until the desired dimensions are achieved. It is then polished to get a smooth surface. This end product is the Turned, Ground, and Polished Shaft.
